The Tortoise and The Hair is a place for all to feel welcome and pampered.
With a team of handpicked stylists by our director, Bridget, you will feel at ease with any one of our highly skilled hairdressers. The team takes pride in their work and are constantly upskilling and learning at every opportunity.
Our down to earth and friendly salon aims to make you feel at ease while your hair is being transformed. We love healthy hair and the integrity of your hair is of the utmost importance to us.

Bridget mohr
salon Director
Bridget is the director of the salon and has been hairdressing for 14 years. From humble beginnings purchasing her first salon at 23, she has grown and flourished in the industry. From freehand colouring to perming- Bridget does it all.
You can find Bridget hanging with her pup, Polly on the weekends and her partner Andrew (who you probably would have seen around the salon). Her books are closed to clients for now, but she is the in-salon trainer for the team and personally educates each of the stylists, so you'll be in safe hands with any of the girls!
SYDNEY
SENIOR STYLIST
Our pocket rocket, senior stylist, Sydney is an absolute delight. Her passion and energy for the industry keeps us all motivated and excited for the future of hairdressing. She does the best bouncy blow dry and will always go out of her way to make you feel warm and welcome in the salon. She brings contagious energy to the salon which both us, and the clients love (so contagious in fact, we have all taken on her Canadian accent from time to time)!
On the weekends, Syd is always looking at the latest and greatest in techniques and basically anything to do with hair! She always has a great new dress on or has baked a yummy slice for us all to try. Her work is that of a perfectionist and you can be assured you are in great hands when Sydney is your stylist.
RUTH
SENIOR STYLIST
Ruth is our salon calm! She is the kindest, most gentle soul with a heart of gold. Ruth is known in salon for her lived in blondes and balayages- but is experienced in all aspects of hairdressing. Originally from Adelaide, we feel so lucky to have such a soft and gentle natured stylist on our team.
On the weekends, Ruth loves to go out for a drink or take on an adventure – she is a social butterfly, and we are in awe of how much energy she has for life and her give it a go attitude. She is the perfect stylist for you, whether you want to have a chin wag or some quiet down time- Ruth has got you covered. We adore her and know you will too!
ELLIE
SENIOR STYLIST
Ellie is a highly skilled and requested stylist in our salon. She is a brilliant colourist with all things blonde and and is our newest go-to copper specialist. Her down to earth nature makes her a valuable asset to our team alongside her can do attitude. Born and bred in Wagga Wagga, Ellie made the move to the Gold Coast in 2021 and hasn’t looked back.
On the weekends Ellie is an amazing makeup artist- creating beautiful faces for formals, weddings, and special occasions- she is one very talented girl! She also has a pug named Toby and loves dogs. Ellie is heavily booked in the salon, so make sure you get in quick as she is a highly sought-after stylist.
KELSEY
EMERGING STYLIST
Where do we start with Kelsey? She is our in-salon comedian and is constantly cracking both the staff and the clients up! Kelsey is an emerging stylist, just one year away from becoming a senior stylist. She is a blow drying and styling genius and is our expert in retail recommendations as she knows every product like the back of her hand. She is our curly expert- with her own luscious curls to boot.
Kelsey is eager to learn and easy to train – she is meticulous in everything she does and wants to perform everything to 110% of her ability. It is a pleasure for us to show Kels the ropes of the salon and create an amazing hairdresser in the process. She is one half behind the scenes creating content for our social platforms and answering all your phone and online enquiries. We can’t wait for you to meet Kelsey and hopefully have a laugh with her too.
